Technology
Process options are assessed against the actual material, operating requirements and whole-system consequences.
Pyrolysis
Pyrolysis is thermal decomposition in the absence, or practical near-absence, of free molecular oxygen. Gas, liquid and solid outputs require control, qualification and defined destinations. The reactor atmosphere alone cannot establish the environmental performance of the plant.
Process Selection
Prevention, reuse, recycling, biological treatment, thermal recovery and controlled disposal have different roles. An appropriate route follows material qualification, territorial constraints and comparison with the alternatives.
Emissions Management
Release conditions, atmospheric transport, process liquids, water treatment and retained residues remain part of the selected system. Capture changes a stream’s location or form; it does not make the underlying material disappear.
